Admissions Process
Thank you for your interest.
IWA is proud to be a premier regional Catholic academy focused on inspiring academic excellence and teaching students to bring the Gospel message to life. Nationally recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Incarnate Word Academy serves a diverse group of students in Kinder Prep to Grade 8 from 4 counties, 20 local communities, 25 countries, and over 50 places of worship. With a strong community of families, faculty, staff, and the Sisters of the Incarnate Word, IWA guides its students to engage the world with faith, compassion, courage and commitment.
The first step to enrollment for all grade levels is to schedule a tour of our campus by contacting Gabe Kessler, our Director of Admission & Advancement, at (440) 842-6818, ext. 304 or emailing gkessler@incarnatewordacademy.org.
Enrollment for Kinder Prep
Students applying for Kinder Prep must be 4 to begin the program. A campus visit and meeting with the Kinder Prep Director and the Director of Admissions and Advancement is required.
Enrollment for Kindergarten
Students applying for Kindergarten must be 5 years old by September 30 of the school year in order to begin the program. Acceptance into Kindergarten is also pending an assessment for kindergarten readiness, which is required for enrollment. A campus visit and meeting with the Director of Admissions and Advancement is required.
Enrollment for Transfer Students
Students applying for a transfer to Incarnate Word Academy may do so at any time. IWA does not accept transfer students for the eighth grade unless deemed an extraordinary circumstance by the school administration and admissions committee. A campus visit and meeting with the Director of Admissions and Advancement is required. Transfer student candidates must also spend a visit day at IWA, where they will be paired with a student in their current grade level and experience a typical school day. Current report cards from the two previous school years along with the most recent standardized test scores must be submitted along with the application. If the student is on a service or accommodation plan, a copy of that plan must be submitted as part of the application. All transfer students are accepted on a probationary status to assess that our programs best fit the needs of the student.
Incarnate Word Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
The enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year in preschool through Grade 8 is 383.
