Incarnate Word Academy is proud to announce that we have been renewed as a designated Purple Star School by the Ohio Department of Education! This award is presented to schools who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to serving military-connected students and families.

Ohio’s Purple Star Advisory Board establishes a set of important criteria that schools must meet to be considered for a Purple Star designation.

We would like to especially thank Ms. Stacy Shalala, who teaches ELA in our preparatory school and has worked tirelessly to help IWA earn this designation. Ms. Shalala has a passion for giving back to others, especially military families. Thank you, Ms. Shalala, for inspiring our IWA community to remember and honor our military!
